The Iris Kudisch Foster Care Program
The
Iris Kudisch Foster Care Program is
a place for animals in temporary need
of refuge to stay and be cared for.
There are many examples of its use.
It could be used for a homeless dog
at an animal shelter who is recovering
from an injury. Often times dogs such
as these are unable to be put up for
adoption until they are well. They need
somewhere quiet and comforting to stay.
It
may used in conjunction with the MSPCA’s
Linkup Educational Network by the pet
of an abused wife who would have otherwise
refused going into a battered woman’s
shelter without proper temporary placement
of her pet. It could be used for an
abandoned mom cat who needs 8 weeks
to nurse her litter. Many shelters have
limited space and would not be able
to afford to give a cat that much cage
time.
Animals
involved in The Iris Kudisch Foster
Care Program stay in a special private
room at Happy-Dog House, a cageless
boarding and day care center. Current
foster care efforts are being supported
by an initial donation from Selwyn and
Marilyn Kudisch in honor of their beloved
pet Iris. But your help is needed in
order for this program to continue.
